Hollywood, FL – Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory's Interact Club sponsored its 10th annual Adopt-A-Family Harvest Drive. The drive, which traditionally takes place right before Thanksgiving, benefits local families in need. Families were selected by the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Little Flower Parish.

The Interact Club reached out to the community and requested traditional Thanksgiving food and basic pantry items. They also accepted monetary donations that would be used to purchase Publix gift cards.

Thanks to the kind generosity of students, faculty, staff, parents and friends of the school, the Harvest Drive collected enough food to feed over 120 families. In addition, over 30 families received Publix gift cards so that they can purchase much-needed food items to make Thanksgiving meals.

Blanca Suarez, Moderator of the Interact Club, says, "More so now than ever, students are stepping up to serve their communities. 14.3 percent of the Broward County population is food insecure with families not knowing where they will get their next meal. Our kids and their families are also realizing that hunger is a reality in every town, not only in our most challenged communities with 19.4 percent of children in South Florida at risk for hunger. The entire Chaminade-Madonna family should be proud of this effort."
